May Zeidan-Lukacs, PhD, LMHC, LPC

Dr. May is a military spouse and homeschool mother of two, who is passionate about empowering and strengthening families and is a proponent of strong relationships, especially with the Holy Spirit. May Zeidan-Lukacs, (Ratha May) is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of FL and VA. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, a Master’s degree in counseling from Webster University and a PhD in Counseling, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Barry University in Miami FL. Prior to marriage and children, she completed doctoral studies in Burnout and an internship with veterans dealing with PTSD. May has been a therapist for 14 years serving children, adolescents and families in outpatient and inpatient settings. She has experience running groups with at-risk adolescent females and miscarriage and loss. Her experience is in helping those dealing with trauma, grief-related cases, anxiety/depression as well as motivational issues and coping with life-changes. Her desire is to work with clients to create an open and safe place where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgement. Each person should be recognized for their uniqueness and deserves an individualized framework of therapeutic goals. Her approach is to actively facilitate positive change towards the desired goal, unique to the individual. Breaking free from past wounds sometimes means identifying emotional reoccurring upsets. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life is a challenge, it takes courage and a leap of faith.
